Part 2: From Berlin with love
While we were still at Alexanderplatz, we were approach by this german guy whom I sincerely apologise for forgetting his name because he is sssssoooo nice! My Malaysian instinct was there the moment a stranger approach me, which is "WHAT DOES HE WANT FROM ME?! IS HE GOING TO KIDNAP ME?!" but thankfully he is just a really nice guy who does photography and some social science degree where he needs to do a project to show what is this common stereotype people have of different country.
Basically he wanted us to like hold a sign board that says what people usually think when they hear about MALAYSIA or for Chloe will be Mauritius. It took me some time to think about it though I have a lot to say about Malaysia ><
Poor guy, he said he had such difficulty to get people to do it even though it Berlin was flooded with tourist from all across Europe at that time because He obviously only speaks german and english and most people he approached from other countries do not speak English. I really like all these extra surprises when you travel because they just makes the trip much more memorable.
Chloe did like a research and figure out all the MUST TRY thing in Berlin. One of it was to try the currywurst at CURRY36. We were hungry... very hungry that is and to have that we have to travel all the way to Mehringdamm for it. Currywurst is basically steamed then fried bratwurst, seasoned with curry ketchup.
The queue at Curry36 was really long and we were like wwwhhooooaaaa~ the problem was the menu isn't clear and the people working there do not look like they speak English at all. It took some time for us to order and they sure looked annoyed because we were holding the line. :( Apart from the service though, the food is really good. They use their own ketchup which taste really good compare to other shops that serve currywurst with those commercialised ketchup.
We also saw this hipster cafe at the same area that says "FREE WIFI"and I was like "LET US GO IN!!!"It was so quiet though cause we are the only customer but it was really nice cause I get to have my daily dose of caffeine.
Whenever you travel, apart from getting wifi is difficult, getting a toilet can be just as challenging but desperate moment requires desperate measure. Forget about looking for malls or for restaurant, we went into this like really old office building that looks like some forgotten government office in Malaysia and since we don't read German, we have no idea what that building is for till this day. We decided to just walk in full confidence as though we have business to do there which technically we do~
On the ground floor, we could not find any female toilet, we saw a male toilet and I know it is male because of the picture but I also saw a word on it which i thought would mean TOILET.
So we went to the reception and me trying to 'fit in'as much as possible decided to not say toilet and told the man that we are looking for 'herren', and i repeated it few times because he looked confused...... after some time, he was like "ÓHHHH!!! TOILETO!!!" and we went "YES!!!" so apparently the ladies toilet is on the 3rd floor, and when I saw the female toilet, i saw the word 'DAMEN' and that was when i realised I just kept saying to a nice elderly man in german 'Hi sir, We are looking for MAN.... man.... looking for maaaaaannnnnn'. T.T poor man, he must have thought we were some crazy girls looking for some hot young man in berlin in the middle of the day.
The must see thing for us there was definitely the BRANDUNBERG GATE. It is one of those iconic thing where it is flooded with tourist and you can see it in every postcard, located within Mitte, built in the 18th century.
Berlin in the night truly is just as beautiful as it is in the day <3
No other than the BERLIN WALL. We stayed like 5 mins walk from it. Unfortunately it was those day which is all rainy and gloomy T.T but not heavy, so it is not that bad. What can I say, to the locals it signify a lot but as a tourist I am honestly enjoying the street art more than the historical meaning.
Initially i wanted to stop blogging for good but someone encourage me not to and I felt like all the sudden maybe this is not so purposeless any more. If i can bring joy to others through a simple act, I am more than honoured to do so. He is a good friend and a dear reader of this blog.

#Unfortunately we were at the wrong side and could'nt get a nice picture with it.
