From Munich With Love

Whether you call it Munich or München, you will love it once you are there. Munich is the capital of Bavaria which is a state in Germany and it is way more cultural than Berlin to me. It just exert this sense of like deep history within it the moment you arrive or maybe I am just so kampung and seeing the world for the first time.

# Did I mention that it hailed???!!! That ain't Spring.

Well, this continues from when we left Berlin after we visited the Berlin Wall in the morning. You can read the part 1 and part 2 here Berlin1 Berlin2

When we arrived, it was basically night time already like late evening so it was a little doggy for us because somehow there are more hobos around you than when we are in Berlin and unfortunately we did get ambushed by one of them in Munich. He kept asking us for money and we were just like staring at each other and he would'nt leave us alone!

Chloe was just trying not to speak English so that he would leave us alone once we stop responding to him. I am so glad that I have her with me.

Since we literally had like 24 hours in Munich before we depart. I really wanted to visit a castle or something because I am so done with museums but since all the palaces are really far away especially the amazing  Neuschwanstein Castle (good luck in pronouncing it) is not even in Munich though sort of near. If you do not know what it is, it is aka the sleeping beauty castle.

We were not interested with concentration camp as well and so we chose the Munich Residenz which is a former palace belonging to the House of Wittlesbach. It is located in the city centre so it was really easy for us to walk there though people are soooo amazingly kind that they actually come to us and offer us help when they saw these two lost girls turning the map round and round. I would say people are generally really nice there. <3

# Steps moment like gossip girl but we are much nicer. you can sit with us :p

Munich Residenz

Well, i find the palace to be really amazing because of the architecture. For real. As a lay person, I have seen like really flamboyant castle or palace but they don't necessary have good architecture.

# Hello me

# Do you not die with a ceiling like that?
The Hall of Antiquities (Antiquarium)

# My opera moment thank you very much

# A very chinese moment for me when I saw these.
These are gifts from China to the royal family aeon years ago

# Not made for Asian height for sure

# Yes, I will take this mirror please.
Chloe be like all absorbing the art moment
and I be like "HEY! BIG MIRROR!"

# Royal garden

We are so poor, literally we decided like that is the only place we will be paying for and the rest of the journey are just FOC tourist spot. Next on our schedule is...

MARIENPLATZ

It is basically the city square of Munich. You are surrounding yourself with like amazing gothic buildings around you. I love the whole gothic vibe and that is why I love Edinburgh so much.

# No filter/ edit

# If you watch the video below, you will get this pic a bit more

It is a famous tourist spot so the amount of people there are crazzzyyy.. We walked to a market nearby food is so expensive! I am not sure if I am broke or they just are. I love going to the local market because you can find so many novel things that you just don't get when you are in a mall or something. I love shopping for homemade products.

# We also visited the Jewish temple but it was not open at that time :(

Next stop...

Englisher Garten

It is this like massive patch of green on the map and we figured that will be quite interesting to check out since they have like monuments inside the garden itself. It was definitely an irony that we came for Britain only to visit an English Garden but who cares, it's free ><

# Serenity moment

It is called English Garden because the landscape is what the Brits were into back in the mid-18th century time. It is sssooo huge we got lost at one point and being there when the sun has set was of no help.

I love being there and having a good friend to share that peaceful moment with. I think generally my Malaysian friends would find things like these to be boring cause walking in the park is not a thing in Malaysia except for jogging and that is it.

It has a view point in the garden where you can overlook the entire Munich around you and that view is priceless during sunset.

# Yes there is a pagoda in the middle of the English Garden

Hofbräuhaus am Platzl

If you only have like one day in Munich then Hofbrauhaus is where you should go at night. I know the locals would disagree because it is a tourist spot but for the sake of inhaling the rich history behind it, go for it. It is a beer hall built in the 1589 and that means it is crazily old.

# Din din with Chloe

# I am wearing like a cape button down shirt.

it is huge inside and so packed! Don't worry though, the wait is not long at all, just rather difficult to get the server's attention at times. They even have a band that plays traditional bavarian music and you have people dressed in traditional bavarian clothes selling these like heart shape biscuit kind. It is a thing there, that is all I know and Chloe got one. :)

We shared a pork knuckle, the portion was ok for two but it is not huge though and neither was it so good you could die kind but we just have to try the local delicacies before we leave. It was just really nice to meet like people from other countries being in the same table as you cause it is one of those long wooden table.

# TONIGHT WE FEAST!

# CHEERS  to a wonderful day

The night was still young after our dinner and as we were walking around Marienplatz, we actually found like this underground sort of bar for dessert and the service was excellent but the cute thing was it was an old people's pub. I am saying that with no judgement but I am just saying as to how funny it is that everyone has like white hair but they are dancing around and having so much fun! It is so inspiring to see that age does not limit your fun.

So basically that was out trip in Germany. Our next train was at 12 midnight!! to Brussels! So the journey continues .....

Munich was luminous. A radiant blue-silk sky stretched out over the festive squares and white columned temples. The neoclassical and baroque churches... surrounded by green...
